Our story is anything but perfect. Like every story, there is the hard and the ugly. We have that too. And we are thankful for the imperfections. 

 

We met on a Sunday afternoon, not seeking to meet anyone, and focused on our friends who we were with. 

 

Matheus reached his hand across to the girl sitting next to him and introduced himself as “Matt” and was impressed with Madeleine’s firm handshake… Madeleine quickly realized with the thick accent his name could not be Matt and questioned relentlessly to get the real name out of him, “What is the name your mom gave you?”. Matheus wrote his name on a piece of paper and said that if she could pronounce it correctly, she would win extra points… 

Well, she pronounced it right… and so Matheus said, “Well can I take you to dinner?” to which Madeleine replied, “We can see about that”.

 

Walking away from that afternoon, Madeleine’s friend kept saying, “Madeleine, he was so kind and SO cute. You should go to dinner with him”

 

Our first date was at a sushi restaurant in Denver and the rest is history…

 

Our time together has been filled with FUN, learning, listening, forgiving, and lots of “Wow, can you believe we met that Sunday and now we are going to get married!!!!”

 

So far in our relationship, we have experienced more of who Christ is and how much He loves us despite our imperfections and sinful nature. Our relationship is a testament to God’s goodness and that He can make beautiful things. 

 

We pray that our relationship is a picture of the Gospel and brings glory to the one who deserves all the praise. 

 

We love eachother so much and we cannot wait for this next chapter of life together.
